Halloween's a -comin 
&spooks are all about 
Scary witches might just gitcha 
If you don't watch out 

But here's a litlle secret 
to keep you safe & sound 
from creepy trick-or-treaters 
when boys & ghouls come 'round 

Just bake a batch of GHOSTIES 
& frost 'em all in white 
Hang 'em in your windows 
Then turn out the lights 

Hide there in your kitchen 
& when kids ring the bell 
Don't get up to answer 
Just shout this magic spell: 

ATTENTION TRICK or TREATERS! 
ABRA ~ DABRA ~ DOO! 
WAIT A SEC, 
I'VE GOT A SPINACH CASSEROLE 
FOR YOU! 

Those little ghosts will run away! 
They'll screem! 
They'll flee in fear! 
They'll not come round again 
( ... well, not until next year) 

It's a dirty trick, I know 
but it's for their own good health 
Those cookies will just rot their teeth 
... so eat them all yourself! 

Have never been much for the scary side of Halloween 
but do enjoy the whimsical 
and like to decorate for the occasion. 

We live in the country, just outside a tiny town. 
Seldom ever have any boys & ghouls to trick or treat 
but always have a small stash of goodies ready! 

Let's  all  get a few pumpkins carved 
& officially light the candles to welcome in the fall holidays!
